closeup on cabinet wood metal

Expressive angles, a presence of weight, void and balance. In Dis-place I have created a cabinet in which the form is determined by the laws of strength and equilibrium. This creates a co-dependent relationship through a rationally objective and focused rhythm. By using birch and steel in combination, weight and lightness, fragility and robustness, craft and playfulness are expressed.

The cabinet relinquishes the right to be functional. It’s a solitaire, alone, with fulfilled needs: both dispensable and indispensable.
